CAREY Baptist College graduate Mireille Christie has been awarded the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship by the University of Notre Dame.

The Willetton resident was recognised for her outstanding academic achievements in Year 12 last year at an on-campus ceremony in March.

Miss Christie has just begun a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Arts double degree.

She said she was not sure which area she was leaning towards working in, but thought the journey would be exciting.

“I’m excited for the future, because I’m not really sure which path I’m going to follow,” she said.

Miss Christie said while she enjoyed studying law at high school, it was another subject that proved helpful.

“Philosophy challenged me to think differently and consider different angles when it came to law.”

During her time at Carey Baptist College, she represented the school in the State Interschool Mock Trials Competition.

She also represented Western Australia at the annual National Schools Constitutional Convention in Canberra.
