Cecil Andrews to steam ahead

STEM or STEAM are educational programs designed to integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the classroom.

The programs include art and design principles to encourage creative solutions.

They aim to teach students to think critically and find solutions to real-world problems.

The new academic extension program at Cecil Andrews aims to provide students with more subject options and a clear direction in their studies as they move into years 11 and 12 and on to tertiary study.

Education Minister Peter Collier announced this year Cecil Andrews SHS would become a specialist academic school after a community consultation program last year.
