TWO Champion Lakes sisters have helped to crown the 2017 Cherry King.

Eva and Andie McAuliffe were on hand to present Tony Ales & Co’s John Ale with his crown after his $45,000 offer for this season’s first 5kg box of cherries was named the highest bid.

Mr Ale donated the cherries back to the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation to hand out to sick children at Princess Margaret Hospital.

More than $92,000 was raised during the Market City Cherry Auction held in Canning Vale on December 8.

The event has now run for 26 years and raised more than $1.1 million for the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.
