Champion Lakes to be home to new Southern Cross Care retirement community

CHAMPION Lakes will be home to a new community with dedicated aged care and retirement facilities.

Yolk Property Group has partnered with Southern Cross Care to redevelop the vacant 14ha Champion Lakes site with a range of apartments, townhouses, aged living and retirement housing.

Lands minister Rita Saffioti said the new development would also include commercial, retail and public open space.

“This exciting new mixed-used development will deliver a diverse range of highly affordable and innovative housing including aged care, and create a dynamic community hub precinct to benefit the wider region,” she said.

“The sale represents an excellent outcome for Armadale and surrounding suburbs such as Roleystone where the aging population needs more facilities to age in place.

“The proposal’s strong focus on sustainability will also ensure that the area’s natural beauty and character is reserved.”
