Chance for youth to take on lead roles

Francis CurroComment News

GOZYAC, the City of Gosnells’ Youth Advisory Council, is seeking new members aged 13-22 to join its team to assist in planning and running youth-driven events and activities and advocating for local young people.

City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle said GOZYAC was a great way for young people to develop confidence, enhance employment opportunities and build a community network.

“One of the key aims of GOZYAC is to promote a positive image of young people and having local youth successfully planning and organising activities is a great endorsement of the calibre of the young people taking on these leadership roles,” Cr Searle said.

“This is an excellent opportunity to meet people, learn about government and the decision making process and create a pathway to long-term community involvement.”
