At 4am on January 10, a resident of Tunis Terrace in Canning Vale became aware of an intruder in the home and called police while getting out of the house.
Canning Vale police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Simon Underwood said his officers responded and allegedly found a 41-year-old man still in the house, in possession of stolen property.
Four days later, after conducting further inquiries, they executed a search warrant at his address in the same suburb, allegedly finding about 250g of cannabis, a hydroponic set-up with cannabis plants, and numerous other items suspected to be stolen.
‘Further inquiries are being conducted with the man into several fraud matters,’ Sgt Underwood said.
The man is due to appear at Armadale Magistrates Court today on burglary and stealing charges.
He will appear again on February 14, charged with receiving.
