ARMADALE is in the middle of a population boom with the City experiencing a 4 per cent increase in population during 2015-16, making it the 10th fastest growing local government area across Australia.
This growth rate is four times the state growth rate.
Mayor Henry Zelones said according to figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Armadale’s population had increased by 25 per cent over the past five years.
“We continue to work with developers to cater for our growing population, which shows no signs of slowing down, with the increase over recent years likely attributed to expansion in our western suburbs,” Cr Zelones said.
Armadale has also seen a rise in business investment, with the number of businesses growing by 4.8 per cent over 2015-16.
Other WA local government areas in the top 10 for growth were the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale and the City of Kwinana.
