CITY of Armadale chief executive Ray Tame has stressed to residents the importance of being registered to vote for the October 21 elections.

CITY of Armadale chief executive Ray Tame is reminding all residents and ratepayers to make sure they’re registered to vote ahead of this year’s local elections on October 21.

“Your local government makes many important decisions that affect the community you live in, for a vast range of programs and services,” Mr Tame said.

“The person you choose to represent your ward as a councillor can play an important role in what happens in your area and the overall region.”

To be eligible to vote, you must be either enrolled on the State electoral roll for a residence within the City of Armadale by September 1, or enrolled on the City’s owners and occupiers roll by August 25.

The WA Electoral Commission estimates electoral packages will be posted to all eligible electors in early October, allowing plenty of time for election day on October 21.

To check your current enrolment status, visit elections.wa.gov.au or call 13 63 06.
