City of Armadale swimming in money after aquatic centre funding announcement

Costing $26 million, the State Government contributed $1 million, leaving $15 million to come from the City of Armadale.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the City had been lobbying for an indoor aquatic centre since the early 1990s.

“Our community has been waiting for the construction of an indoor aquatic centre for many years, with redevelopment originally scheduled for 2019/20, and it will now be completed by the end of 2018,” he said.
