City of Armadale to trial community liaison officers in Jull St

Sophie MooreComment News

THE CITY of Armadale has hired community liaison officers to patrol Jull Street over the next three months as part of a trial to improve shoppers’ experiences in the area.

The officers will be on duty weekday afternoons and during peak business hours on Saturday and Sunday to ensure the shopping precinct remains family friendly.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said the purpose of the project was to gauge the extent of problems related to anti-social behaviour, identify those who may be causing discomfort to others on a regular basis and enlist direct intervention by the police if necessary.
