LOCALS will be unable to buy Ticketek and Ticketmaster tickets from the City of Armadale Visitor Centre as of July 1.

The City reported that following a review, it became evident they could not continue to carry the costs associated with providing the ticketing services, which outweighed commissions by 500 per cent.

Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones said City officers took recent trends towards online sales into consideration.

“The business model for this service just does not work anymore. Ticketek and Ticketmaster are now a predominately online service and all tickets can be purchased online, anywhere at any time,” Cr Zelones said.

Residents without access to a computer or printer are invited to visit the Armadale, Seville Grove or Kelmscott Libraries to use the public computers to purchase and print tickets.
