City of Gosnells moves to fix gap on Huntingdale park bench

Due to her smaller size, the two-year-old would often slip through the bench at the park on Rusthall Way in Huntingdale.

Mr Goodall said there was a gap that was big enough for his granddaughter to slip through.

“At home she is taught to move her bottom to the back of the chair and went straight through the hole and ended up on the bricks underneath and hit her head,” he said.

“Lots of small kids come and play there at various times and can sit on the bench without the fear of falling through.”

He said he was thinking of fixing it himself when councillor Terry Healy called as he was campaigning to run for the Labor party and helped him out.

The bench was fixed the next day by the City of Gosnells

Mr Healy said he would now look at more benches in the City to see if they needed fixing.
