City of Gosnells teams up with Skateboarding WA to run clinics for school kids

SCHOOLCHILDREN are getting the opportunity to learn to skate.

Schools based around the skate parks in Thornlie, Maddington, Gosnells and Beckenham have been involved in the in-school skate clinics trial, which have |almost doubled attendance rates at local skate parks.

Skateboarding WA has teamed up with the City of Gosnells to give local children a chance to try skateboarding and learn more about the City’s Youth programs.

The initiative aims to not only introduce children to skateboarding but also spread the word about the Roll On Skate Park Series clinics and competitions, which are held until May 2017.

As part of the program, children will get a chance to try skateboarding for the first time and the program will also promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

The program is also aiming to attract people to the skateparks in the City of Gosnells area and highlight the positives of skateboarding.
