The courthouse services the south-east corridor, and petitions for its replacement alongside a 24-hour police station totalling nearly 12,000 signatures were tabled in parliament last May.
On his visit to Gosnells Community Legal Centre, which provides domestic violence and tenancy advocacy services at the courthouse, Mark Dreyfus announced a one-off $190,000 funding boost for the centre.
Centre manager Marion Leach said the grant would help maintain services, but added that the centre was bursting out of its building, juggling people in and out of offices, the Armadale CBD and the courthouse.
She would like to have a satellite office at court.
