The club hosted a visit involving nearly 100 students from the university’s architecture school as they explored the concept of a new clubroom.
The clubhouse would be one of the main features of the club’s 20 year business plan.
Club president Peter Charkiewicz said their current clubroom was too small for their 370 members.

READ NOW“We’re trying to accommodate all our bowlers, especially during social events. We have to close the event weeks before we hold them currently,” he said. “At the moment, if we have a bowling day, the bowlers want to use the rooms after the event.”
Mr Charkiewicz said it was important the whole community could use the clubrooms.
“We’ve been approached to hold social events on Saturdays but we just can’t hold them due to the lack of space,” he said.
The new clubrooms would have two separate rooms, one for functions and one for social use.
Mr Charkiewicz said the response from the Curtin students was enthusiastic.
“I’m incredibly excited. We expected interest but not as much as we got.”
Boon Lay Ong, Curtin’s head of architecture, said they were pleased to be working with the bowling club.
