Fifth man charged over Hakea Prison death

HOMICIDE Squad detectives have charged a fifth man with murder over the death of an inmate at Hakea Prison.

Guards found Alf Eades, 46, injured in his cell on February 26.

He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but died from his injuries on March 11.

Police previously charged two 22-year-old men, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old man with murder.

Detectives today charged a 23-year-old man with murder as part of the ongoing investigation.

He will appear before Armadale Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
