WA Police have charged former Labor Darling Range MLA Barry Urban with fraud.
Mr Urban has been charged by the Major Fraud Squad with five counts of uttering a forged document, attempted fraud, forging a record and five counts of giving false evidence before a Parliamentary Committee.
Police said the five counts of uttering a forged document and attempted fraud and forging a record relate to materials and information that he allegedly provided during applications involving WA Police Force.
Mr Urban was arrested and charged today and he will appear in court at a later date.

Mr Urban quit the Labor Party last November and resigned from Parliament in May, after allegations were made he had lied about his education and work experience.
A Parliamentary inquiry into Mr Urban led to police launching a criminal investigation.
