THREE Armadale suburbs have made a top 10 list of Perth’s best places to work.

PwC’s CityPulse campaign ranked Forrestdale, Piara Waters and Harrisdale seventh in their list of the best suburbs to work, behind first ranked Perth City and Subiaco/Nedlands, which came in second.

Suburbs were ranked based on economic factors such as business activity, employment rates, access to jobs and economic performances.

Perth managing partner Michelle Tremain said while the Perth CBD ranked highly in these categories, it was essential to grow the economies of non-central business districts.

“What’s important to recognise is that not many of us work close to where we live in Perth, so it’s important that we grow jobs in all locations while improving our transport infrastructure so that people everywhere can get to where the jobs are,” she said.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said it was great to see the three Armadale suburbs make the work list.

“In recent years we have steadily been establishing the Armadale region as a hub for business and industry and our residents are reaping the rewards,” he said.

“This result reflects the continuing construction growth through our new suburbs and business investment in the Forrestdale Business Park.

“The Armadale region has much to offer for new and established businesses looking to prosper and the City is working hard to ensure positive, long term outcomes for current and future business owners.

“Indeed, we saw the number of businesses operating in the Armadale region grow by 4.3 per cent in 2017, which is testament to the positive work and enthusiasm the City is injecting into this space.”

The campaign also ranked Perth’s best places to live and play, with Wembley/West Leederville/Glendalough and Perth City topping those respective lists.

Armadale suburbs were not mentioned in either.
