PIARA Waters’ new dog park will be officially opened with a free community party on February 17.

The event will shower our four legged friends with freebies including puppycinos and pupcakes, grooming and pawdicures as well as a pooch photo and kissing booth.

Attendees of the human variety can also enjoy free carnival games, face painting, sausage sizzle, balloons, popcorn and coffee.

The fully enclosed dog park within the Stockland Newhaven estate is on 6000sqm and includes separate small and large dog zones, agility equipment, drinking fountains and seating.

Free dog training classes with the RSPCA will also be a fixture at the park.

Newhaven pooch ambassador Ziggy and his owner Hannah Thomas will be among the partygoers on the day.

“When I was contacted about Ziggy being the winner of the Newhaven dog ambassador search, I couldn’t believe it,” Ms Thomas said.

“We were pleased to visit Newhaven and show off Ziggy’s awesome grooming at the photoshoot and explore the new equipment.”

The free community party is on February 17 from 10am to 12.30pm.

The dog park is at Macadamia Loop, Piara Waters.
