Full turnaround for Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale executive

THE Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale’s entire executive team changed hands in the space of a year, with the latest departure announced last month.

It follows recruitment in the past 12 months by the Shire for a new Director of Planning, a new Director of Engineering, and interim acting chief executive Gary Clark was appointed after Richard Gorbunow retired earlier this year ahead of his contract’s completion.

A permanent chief executive is yet to be appointment by the Shire.

The resignation of Director of Corporate and Community Alan Hart was announced October 21, and he did not attend the September 27 ordinary council meeting.

Mr Hart’s role was to oversee financial, corporate, community, information, customer and library services.

Shire president John Erren said Mr Hart left by mutual agreement.

When Comment News asked the circumstances of his departure, Shire President John Erren said it was a “confidential employment matter and we can’t provide any additional details that would breach contractual obligations.”

“We thank Alan for his contribution to the community and wish him well in the next chapter of his career,” Cr Erren said.
