Funding fillip for growing town

Sarah WatersComment News

The Byford Town Centre access and safety project has received $5.68 million under round two of the Australian Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund.

Federal Member for Canning Andrew Hastie said part of the much-needed funding would go towards the upgrade of Abernethy Road.

“Byford is growing at a rapid rate,” he said.

“Upgrading Abernethy Road to a dual carriageway will considerably improve access to the town site, opening up growth opportunities for businesses and increasing exposure.”
