The 32 hectare site on the corner of the South Western Highway and Beenyup Road was bought by Cedar Woods in April.
Cedar Woods WA state manager Stuart Duplock said the development would create 350 to 370 lots but the kangaroo population was a ‘complex issue’.
The developer is working with expert kangaroo consultants and the Department of Environment and Conservation to produce a detailed management plan.
‘The management plan will outline the best options available to manage this specific kangaroo population,’ Mr Duplock said.
‘This plan will then be referred to both the DEC and the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire for their comment and approval.’
