Robert (Bob) Leendert Uittenbroek, now in his 70s, began playing Aussie Rules in 1957 for the Gosnells Football Club when he was 16.

Mr Uittenbroek is renowned for being hard to track down because he volunteers his time seven days a week at various clubs and organisations throughout WA.

When the News finally caught up with him, he said he was just as keen about Australian Rules today as he was six decades ago.

‘It’s a terrific game to be involved in,’ he said.
