THE City of Gosnells has lodged an insurance claim for the demolition and reconstruction of the Gosnells Archers clubrooms.

A suspicious fire gutted the Gosnells Archers clubrooms last month after a car ploughed into it.

The archers managed to save targets, which has allowed the club to continue to shoot on weekends.

The City of Gosnells voted at its council meeting on October 11 to make a change to the budget and use $80,000 to begin the process of bulldozing the building and building a new one.

Councillor Terry Healy thanked the council for acting quickly.

Mayor Olwen Searle said she was sure the council would by happy to help given the very difficult circumstances.
