CITY of Gosnells has awarded the tender to an engineering consultancy to begin designing an upgrade to the Station Street bridge.
The objective was to have a new two-lane bridge design that will be located on the north side of the existing bridge, thereby leaving the existing bridge for pedestrian and cycle use.
Council awarded the tender to BG&E for the contracted sum of almost $490,000.
The services associated with the contract will be included in the City’s 2016-17 budget, including a $400,000 grant it received through the Federal Grants Roads to Recovery – Bridge Program.
BG&E will provide design services for the proposed new bridge between Astley Street and Mills Road West in Gosnells.
