Gosnells: teen faces court after officer injured in pursuit through suburb

POLICE arrested and charged a 17-year-old after an officer was injured and a pursuit occurred through Gosnells.

Around 11.10am on October 23, police responded to a report that a man was on the roof of a house on Walker Place in Gosnells.

Police attended and the man is believed to have entered the rear yard of the house.

As a male officer was in the driveway, the offender then drove the vehicle out of the rear of the premises through gates in the driveway.

The officer was pinned against a gate briefly, before the offender drove away.

A short pursuit in various streets through Gosnells was later aborted.

The car was found a short time later abandoned in Lyrebird Way, Thornlie.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested and faced Perth Children’s Court on October 24 charged with acts of omissions causing bodily harm, failing to stop after traffic accident, reckless driving, stealing a motor vehicle and driving without a licence.

Further charges may be laid.

The police officer injured attended hospital and it is believed he received ligament and soft tissue damage.

Police are also on the look- out for information about a stolen silver Holden Astra (registration 1GBG 515) that was allegedly involved in a number of incidents.

It is believed the Astra was stolen from Beckenham in the early hours of the morning.
