Homemade ‘pen gun’ forces Kelmscott school into lockdown

Staff WriterComment News

POLICE have revealed a ‘pen gun’ was behind the firearm scare in Kelmscott yesterday that prompted the local high school to be locked down for about 30 minutes.

Police attended a home in Slee Avenue Kelmscott yesterday shortly after 2pm to follow up on reports gunshots had been heard.

Tactical Response Group officers entered the home and, during a search of the backyard, officers located a homemade pen gun in a tree.

A tree stump showed evidence of bullet holes, believed to be from occupants of the home shooting at the stump.
