Inner Wheel Clubs began in 1924 and was closely linked with Rotary Clubs, which at the time were only open to males.

The clubs were typically comprised of wives and daughters of Rotarians who wished to contribute in the same way.

The International Inner Wheel objectives are promoting true friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service and fostering international understanding.
