THE Inner Wheel Club of Gosnells is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a reunion luncheon.
The club wants to bring past and present members together in Gosnells on Sunday November 12 to celebrate in style.
President Ann DeJong, who has been with the club since it started, said it hoped to notify as many past members as possible.
“We would love for past members to join us as we remember all the wonderful friendships, view the club’s photograph albums and recall our fundraising occasions,” she said.
Inner Wheel Clubs began in 1924 and was closely linked with Rotary Clubs, which at the time were only open to males.
The clubs were typically comprised of wives and daughters of Rotarians who wished to contribute in the same way.
Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s voluntary organisations in the world and boasts more than 103,000 members from about 3900 clubs in more than 100 countries.
The International Inner Wheel objectives are promoting true friendship, encouraging the ideals of personal service and fostering international understanding.
