She believes her longevity is due to leading an active life and being well supported by her daughter.

“Gael has just been wonderful, I’ve never wanted for anything,” Mrs Rutherford said.

Mrs Rutherford loved dancing and playing a variety of sports, including tennis and golf, and played lawn bowls well into her 80s.

But she loves her footy, despite the frustration that comes with being a West Coast fan, and is coming second in the homes’ footy tipping competition.

Mrs Rutherford has also enjoyed travelling, visiting many countries including England, Scotland, Wales, Thailand, China and Singapore.

She has one daughter, a step-son, six grand children and eight great grand-children.
