Kelmscott man charged over hold-up at Albany Highway service station

A KELMSCOTT man has been charged with armed robbery after a hold-up at a service station on Albany Highway.

At about 12.10am on Sunday morning, November 13, a man entered the service station armed with what police believe to be a crowbar and demanded that a staff member hand over cash.

The man left a short time later with some cash and cigarettes.

Public Transport Authority transit officers detained and arrested a 24-year-old man matching the description of the offender at Seaforth train station.

Police took him into custody, where he was charged with armed robbery.

He was refused bail and was due to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on the same day.
