IT’S not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s a cute little pup in a superhero mask who was recently named the most photogenic dog in Armadale.

Kelmscott resident Leissa Hanley’s snap of Maltalier Zac sporting a heroic costume was chosen from more than 300 entries as the winner of the City of Armadale’s #DogsoftheDale social media competition.

Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said it had been a hard competition to judge, with the snap of Zac winning based on its overall appeal.

“This competition, promoting the benefits of responsible dog ownership in the City of Armadale, has been a huge success, receiving a really positive response from our residents,” he said.

“The competition was all about our residents sharing photos of their dogs that showed them in their element – we were looking for creative and interesting photos that best displayed our furry friends’ personalities and canine cuteness.

“In the end, our judges felt that the photo of Zac ticked all the boxes, and was just a really fun photo of a clearly well-loved dog, who enjoys getting out and enjoying his city.

“We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the competition and congratulate our winners Zac and Leissa.”

Ms Hanley and Zac won a $250 pet photography package from 7 to 1 photography and a $1000 voucher for Better Pets and Gardens Kelmscott.
