Kenwick: allegedly stolen vehicle in crash

POLICE have charged a teenager who was allegedly a passenger in a stolen vehicle that crashed after failing to stop for patrol officers in Kenwick overnight.

Investigators are still looking for the driver and another passenger.

Police tried to stop the Ford Territory, which was allegedly stolen in Maddington, about 12.40am when they saw it travelling west on Kenwick Road.

It crashed into a sign post a short time later at the intersection of Kenwick and Wanaping roads.

Officers apprehended a 19-year-old man, but did not find the vehicle’s two other occupants.

Police charged the youth with vehicle theft.

He is due in Armadale Magistrates Court on October 17.
