Roleystone labrador puts in heroic effort for Cystic Fibrosis calendar

Sarah WatersComment News

The nine-year-old chocolate brown labrador has become a “superhero” for cystic fibrosis (CF).

He will don a variety of costumes for each month of the Twelve Months of Mousse calendar, which draws on the superhero theme.

Mousse’s owner Shae Clarkson said she adopted him four years ago.

“We got him from Shenton Park dog refuge as we were all so desperate for another dog after our last dog passed away,” she said.

While Ms Clarkson was enjoying time with Mousse, her good friend mentioned her nephew had cystic fibrosis and explained how hard it was on the family.

At about the same time, another friend was fundraising for CF as her daughter also had the life-threatening condition.

The following year, Ms Clarkson decided to get on board with the fundraiser efforts with the help of Mousse.

“The first time I did it was just a collection of pictures of him dressed up that I had collected over 18 months,” she said.

“Last year I made lots of different costumes and I collected for my friend Marc and his family. He unfortunately passed away this year but was able to sell 200 calendars.

“I’m really hoping to raise $10,000 through sales of this calendar, Mousse is cute enough and I think everyone needs him on their wall for another 12 months.”

Orders can placed by calling Ms Clarkson on 0402 091 799 or through the Twelve Months of Mousse Facebook page www.facebook.com/twelvemonthsofmousse .
