Mayor Olwen Searle said the Pop-Up Library concept was about reconnecting those residents who have not visited the library for a while with books.
“The Pop-Up Library brings the benefits of a City library to the outdoors, where people can relax, choose from a selection of books or magazines and chat to our friendly staff about the library’s resources, events and programs,” she said.
“This portable library comes complete with deck chairs, picnic rugs and of course book shelves packed with great reads for all ages.”
Residents can visit the Pop-Up Library at the Little Scribblers family event, part of the Homegrown Festival, on Saturday, March 19, at Thornlie Oval from 11am to 3pm or during Youth Week events at Thornlie Library on Saturday, April 9, from 2-6pm. Visit www.gosnells.wa.gov.au for details.
