Lifestyle, employment key for new Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale President

JOHN Erren has been elected the new president of the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale.

Cr Erren has served on the council for the past two years as the North Ward representative.

“I plan to be a strong, positive advocate for honest and respectful communication between the shire and our community,” he said.

“I believe that this is an exciting time for Serpentine-Jarrahdale and I intend to promote lifestyle and employment opportunities in the shire.”

Cr Erren has held numerous community and governance positions, including as president of the Byford and Districts Country Club and chairman of the Mundijong Primary School board.

He also sits on the board of management of the Peel Development Commission and on the Haematology Survivorship Research Advisory Committee.

He lives in Byford with his partner and four children.

Cr Erren replaces former shire president Cr Keith Ellis, who served as president for two years.

Four new councillors were also welcomed to the council.

David Atwell and Michelle Rich were elected to the Southern ward, while Jacqui See and Dave Gossage were elected to the North ward.
