Local history: a look back at changing Albany Highway and Jull Street intersection

Tim SlaterComment News

THIS week Comment News takes you on a stroll down memory lane to have a look at how the intersection of Albany Highway and Jull Street has changed over the years.

The new intersection for Albany Hwy, South West Hwy and Jull Street was built near the Narrogin Inn, involving the removal of the old timber planks under the road surface, and a diversion of the Neerigen Brook.

Remnants of the old road and bridge can still be seen today by people walking the path through Lions Park, then known as Mandalay Park, towards the pedestrian underpass that was created as part of this project.
