Maddington: man charged with deprivation of liberty, assault of woman

A MAN has been charged following an incident in Maddington yesterday afternoon which led to the WA Police Tactical Response Group being deployed.

The man and woman were allegedly at a house on Revesby Street when they became involved in an argument.

The man then allegedly physically assaulted the woman, threatened her with firearms and demanded that she stay at the property.

That afternoon she managed to run from the property seeking assistance from a neighbour.

She was conveyed to Armadale Hospital for treatment for facial injuries.

The Tactical Response Group attended the property and the man was taken into custody without incident.

It is further alleged that during a search of the property officers located two replica firearms, weapons and drug paraphernalia.

A 46-year-old man from Maddington has been charged with deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm, being armed in a way that may cause fear and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today.
