Alfred Krakouer charged over Champion Lakes incidents

A 28-year-old Queens Park man was taken into custody shortly before midnight in relation to a string of incidents in Champion Lakes.

Alfred Edward Krakouer was taken into custody after police were called to a house in Raleigh Street, Carlisle after a man was disturbed in the home-owner’s bedroom.

Officers from the South East Metropolitan District and Regional Investigations Group responded and began searching the neighbourhood.

Krakouer was taken into custody about an hour later.

He is currently at Royal Perth Hospital being treated for dog bites received during the course of his arrest.

Armadale Detectives have charged the 28-year-old with two counts of aggravated armed robbery, aggravated armed assault with intent to rob, three counts of aggravated burglary, home burglary, stealing a motor vehicle, attempting to steal motor vehicle, four counts of stealing, nine counts of gaining benefit by fraud, reckless driving to escape pursuit by police and failing to comply with a direction to stop.

A bedside hearing will be held today.
