A 36-YEAR-old man will face court on Thursday following a firearm scare that put Kelmscott Senior High School in lockdown last week.

It will be alleged about 12.40pm on April 11, the man discharged a homemade pen gun at a home on Slee Avenue, resulting in a significant police response including the Tactical Response Group.

The local school was also shut down for about 30 minutes.

Officers later found a tree stump with evidence of bullet holes, believed to be from occupants of the home shooting at the stump.

Armadale Detectives have charged the Kelmscott man with discharging a firearm to the danger of or to cause fear to the public and an unlicensed person possessing a firearm or ammunition.
