Home meth lab raided by police

A MAN has been charged after police thwarted an alleged home meth lab yesterday.

Drugs and firearm squad detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Gunby Street in Maddington on Wednesday.

Items and chemicals consistent with creating methamphetamine were allegedly found and two people were detained.

Police guarded the property overnight and have contained the scene.

Chemcentre specialist personnel are at the house today, working to mitigate the risk to neighbouring properties by assisting, identifying and safely removing the items.

A 37-year-old man from Maddington has been charged with attempting to manufacturing a prohibited drug.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates’ Court today.

Police attended a home in suburban Perth on Thursday, February 13, where they allegedly found chemicals used in the production of methamphetamine.

The second person was released.

Police are continuing their investigation.
