A POLICE chase in the southern suburbs last night has ended with a man charged over a home burglary and evading police.
Police said a white Mitsubishi Pajero was stolen during a burglary at a home on Explorer Drive in Thornlie yesterday afternoon.
The stolen car was sighted by police at about 10.30pm last night on Gribble Avenue in Armadale.
Police allege the driver failed to stop and attempted to evade officers through several streets causing multiple police cars and a helicopter to be deployed to the area.
Officers backed away once the helicopter was above the car and Police Air Wing monitored from the air.
Police said a stinger device was deployed and the car was found abandoned a short time later in Cullen Court, Camillo.
The driver was arrested near the abandoned car after he allegedly fled on foot.
The 45-year-old man from Camillo has been charged with home burglary and commit, stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving to escape police, failing to stop, no authority to drive and possessing a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and was due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today.
Police said the investigation was ongoing to determine whether the incident is linked to several other burglaries in the Thornlie area around the same time.
