A 37-year-old man arrested in relation to an alleged attempted child abduction incident in Forrestfield on December 19 is due in court today.
Midland Detectives charged the man on Christmas Day.
Police alleged about 10.15am, the man who was pretending to deliver a letter, knocked on the door of a nearby residence located on Anderson Street.
When the door was opened he forced he way into the home brandishing a toy handgun, scaring the occupants of the home which included two children aged seven and eight, and a 67-year-old woman.
Police claim he told the seven-year-old child to come with him and when the child refused, he left the premises.
The 37-year-old man from Forrestfield has been charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and going armed to cause fear.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today.
