Man charged over Orange Grove bushfire

POLICE have charged a man after he allegedly lit a bushfire in Orange Grove on Tuesday.

Police allege the man started the fire in dense bushland near homes on White Street about 7pm.

Several members of the public were able to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher before the fire spread.

A 41-year-old man from Kelmscott has been charged with willfully lighting a fire likely to injure or damage.

He is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court tomorrow.
