Man charged after stand-off with police in Gosnells

A MAN has been charged with aggravated assault and making threats to kill after an incident in Gosnells last night that saw a Tactical Response Group (TRG) negotiator called.

About 6pm, police were called to a home in Gosnells after a report of a man threatening a family member with a weapon.

The family member was able to leave the home.

The man refused to leave the home and a TRG negotiator attended.

After several hours it is alleged the man allowed police to enter the home but refused to move away from his weapon when repeatedly asked.

Police utilised a taser and the man was taken into custody without incident before being conveyed to Armadale Hospital for assessment.

Armadale Detectives have charged the 29-year-old man with making threats to kill, aggravated assault, carrying a controlled weapon in a manner likely to cause fear and criminal damage.

He will appear in Armadale Magistrates Court today.
