Man injured in Maddington factory fire

A PERSON has been rushed to hospital as fire crews battle a blaze at a scrapyard in Maddington.

St John Ambulance confirmed a male had been taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital under priority conditions.

The fire is on Ryelane Steet near the intersection of Hayley Street in Maddington.

There is a fear smoke from the blaze could be toxic.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services are on the scene and brought the blaze under control at 1.38pm.

A spokesperson said there was a large amount of fuel at the scene.

A number of roads have been closed including Ryelane Street, Stebbing Road, Hayley Street and Mandarin Road.
