Man knocked unconscious after pub brawl

A MAN has been charged after allegedly punching another man unconscious in Thornlie last night.

Just after 11pm,a group of people were leaving a tavern on Murdoch Road when an altercation occurred between two people in the carpark.

Police said the two people were known to each other.

It will be alleged a 27-year-old man punched a 34-year-old man in the carpark, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground.

St John Ambulance took the victim to Royal Perth Hospital with a priority one status.

A St John spokesperson said the victim was unconscious for a couple of minutes after being punched on the stomach, face and fell backwards, hitting his head.

The 27-year-old Thornlie man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on December 20.
