Marchers call for police 24/7

Organiser Armadale MLA Tony Buti invited Police Minister Liza Harvey and Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan, who did not attend.

‘Armadale is a regional centre, with an ever-growing community, and must have its own district policing hub,’ Dr Buti said.

‘Local people are sick and tired of slow after-hours response times with police attending from Cannington. I believe that it is the delay in police responses that has lifted the local crime rate.’

A spokeswoman for the Commissioner said to open the Armadale Police Station after business hours would take police off the road to carry out admin- istrative duties.
