City of Armadale chief executive Ray Tame ‘really should not have said’ Armadale would probably merge with Serpentine Jarrahdale, Cr Moore said.

Mr Tame made the comments at a local business breakfast last Wednesday.

‘I’m really unhappy with the City of Armadale for foreshadowing what may not actually happen,’ Cr Moore said.

Both men met with Local Government Minister Tony Simpson the next day (Thursday) as part of four days of amalgamation talks between representatives of Perth’s 30 councils.

City of Gosnells Mayor Dave Griffiths and chief executive Ian Cowie, Armadale Mayor Henry Zelones and Serpentine Jarrahdale chief executive Richard Gorbunow also attended the meeting, as did representatives of Victoria Park, South Perth and Cockburn councils.
