THE family of Karrakup woman Alice Smallhorn have expressed their gratitude to searchers after she was found safe and well on Monday morning.

Mrs Smallhorn, 77, was missing for more than a day after last being seen at her Kiln Road property about 6pm on Saturday evening.

Police and about 30 SES volunteers scoured the area near Mrs Smallhorn’s home on Sunday amid serious fears for her safety.

However, she was found walking out of bushland near Barge Drive in Byford on Monday morning.

Mrs Smallhorn’s son Steve Maughan said the family was grateful for all the help they received.

“Firstly we would like to express our sincere thanks to those involved in the search for our mother,” Mr Maughan said.

“This includes the police, SES volunteers, neighbours and members of the community who put in a massive effort.

“At this point in time we are looking at what is best for her wellbeing and what options are available.”
