Staff WriterComment News

WA’S latest millionaire is a mother of three who has been playing the Lotto for a decade.

The Kelmscott local won $1,012,310 in the Division One Prize for the Monday Lotto that she bought from Champion Drive News in Armadale.

“I’ve played every week for the past 10 years,” she said.

“When I checked my ticket something weird came up on the screen and I thought the machine was broken.

“I was shaking all over when the girl told me, and when I got to my mum’s house I ran in screaming.”

The 57-year-old plans to buy a new car with hers being on its “last legs”, and celebrate with her family and Chinese takeaway.

Lotterywest spokesperson Hermione Coleman said there was still an opportunity to win big in tonight’s $40 million Powerball jackpot.

“Get together with some mates and buy a syndicate ticket, or buy a Powerpik which gives you the winning Powerball number you need to win Division One,” she said.

“Either way is a great way to play, and remember that a third of the money that Lotterywest makes on its games goes back to the WA community, so everyone is a winner.”

Tickets for tonight’s Powerball jackpot are available until 6pm in-store, online or via the app.
